Attending a partner or group workout session, on the other hand, may motivate you to work more. Because of the combination of an instructor urging you from the front and people’s innate competitiveness, group exercise participants push themselves more when working out in a class than when working out alone. When other people are performing the same activity, it’s much more difficult to skip the last few reps or go slowly.
